I guess not. The Wildlife Society and that frankly misguided, if well-meaning, PEETA group would raise a stink about it if they caught wind of it though.
[ To put it lightly. ]
...there's a lot of people who would, I'm sure. [ Maybe. She'd like to be optimistic for him. ]
Well, they thought Celestia was someone's owned monster and wanted to free her from the shackles of slavery of whoever entered her in the tournament. They even put up a request on the task board about it.
"People Exuberant about the Ethical Treatment of Animals," I'm pretty sure. Go to one of their meetings. Maybe there're some that aren't as nonsensical. [ She kind of doubts it
but
you know. ] On second thought, don't do that. They might think you're unethically holding your buddies hostage and try to take them or something equally dumb. Their heart's in the right place, they're just...
[The wildlife society exists, some other people actually care... He knows they're not alone. At the same time-]
But there aren't any laws protecting them. There are a lot of people that don't care, and organizations like the Beastmaster Hunting Guild are allowed to operate.
[At least it's not infuriating him to talk about it this time.]
Then petition for laws to get made. You'll at least have people to back you that are from here. You might not be able to outlaw everything, but you could get restrictions... or something.
she also has very little knowledge about how laws work, but she AT LEAST KNOWS MORE THAN YOU. ]
I don't see why not. We elected otherworlder representatives earlier in the year to help with... government-type stuff. [ It was all Gaius' idea. Who cares about elections though. ] Celestia and Naomi Kimishima--she's the woman Jude runs his clinic with--were the ones who ended up winning. I think that was around the same time you and Ludger came, but you were both new here, so I'm not really surprised you didn't pay any attention.
[ Like, she barely paid attention and she'd been living here for a while--she mostly went to the campaign meets to see that no one was going to be suggesting anything out of hand. ]
There's also the fact they're not really as visible as say, Edea or Bobby, who're the ones that got elected for the otherworlder enforcer... force.
Anyway, Celestia's probably going to be the easier one to talk to about this stuff, seeing as she's a talking pony and she's already helped out with some of your monster befriending stuff. [ the beetles.......... ] She's got a cute enchantment and core shop in town too that's pretty popular, so there shouldn't be any issue finding her if you ask around a little.

No one's gonna care, Milla. [She doesn't have to try and make him feel better.] What's this PEETA group like?

[ Yeah. ]

That doesn't make any sense.
[God help him what stupid warped group is running around spouting out this shit, is there no good in this world.]

At least there's the Wildlife Society.]

You know there's people outside of you and the other trainers that care about not killing everything in sight, right?
